Electric vehicles (EV) and hybrids are becoming more and more common. Volvo has some exciting EV and Hybrid vehicles coming up in the next few years. You will see these soon at Kundert Volvo Cars of Hasbrouck Heights and on the streets of Hasbrouck.

Starting in 2020, all new models of Volvo cars have a hybrid option as well as the standard internal combustion engine. By 2025, Volvo's goal is for half of their models to be all-electric, with the rest being hybrids. This commitment to the environment includes a decision to make all their manufacturing climate neutral by 2040.

Current plans include multiple types of hybrid vehicles, including standard hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and minimal hybrid engines. Standard hybrids recharge their batteries using the gasoline engine and braking. Plug-in hybrids allow you to charge your vehicle, so the gas engine is used less. Minimal hybrids use a battery to boost the fuel efficiency of the engine and reduce emissions. All of these offer performance without worrying about things like running out of charge. Volvo plans on focusing on plug-in hybrids as well as pure electric vehicles going forward.

If you want some serious acceleration and torque, a pure electric motor is capable of much better performance than an internal combustion engine. Currently, Volvo offers the XC40 Recharge, which is a pure electric SUV. This offers a 200-mile range and has 402 horsepower. It will see a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds. Volvo has plans for other pure electric models, however none are on the market quite yet. Keep an eye on Kundert Volvo Cars of Hasbrouck Heights up until 2025 to see the new Volvo all-electric cars.

The Recharge line also includes five other plug-in hybrid models, including two sedans and SUVs, with the final option being an estate model. If you love Volvo for driving in the Hoboken area and want to be more eco-friendly, Volvo has plenty of options for you.

If you're looking for an SUV, Volvo offers the five-seater XC60 Recharge and the seven-seater XC90. Both offer a pure electric range of over 18 miles and a fuel efficiency of over 55 mpg. Both of these are plug-in hybrids, so you can use the gasoline engine even less for short trips and errands.

Those who would prefer sedans can pick from the S60 Recharge or the S90 Recharge. The S90 has a pure electric range of 22 miles and has an mpg of 69, and can go from 0 to 60 in 4.3 seconds. The S90 Recharge offers 21 miles of pure electric range, a 400 horsepower engine, and a 0 to 60 time of 4.8 seconds.

If you prefer a wagon-style, Volvo has the V60 Recharge. It has an eAWD system to handle any terrain, 415 horsepower, and 494 pound-feet of torque to give you the power you need for your adventures. It includes a hands-free tailgate as standard, so you don't need to struggle when your hands are full. Advanced safety features also come standard in this and all Volvos.

All of these hybrid models offer the same luxury you expect from Volvo. Additional safety features will continue to make your Volvo safer to drive than many other cars on the market. You can expect similar performance as well.
